Our team has extensive experience in caring for children. We are a culturally diverse centre. Our team works collaboratively with our parents to meet their needs and expectations and to provide quality outcomes for all children. Our Service partners with local schools and external community agencies to keep families informed and assisted wherever possible. We are committed to best practice and hold membership and links with a number of professional organisations including, but not limited to, Early Childhood Australia, the Australian Childcare Alliance and Nutrition Australia.
To ensure that every child who is a part of the Smart Start family gains foundation skills and knowledge from within our service to foster and develop their social, intellectual and emotional growth. This is achieved by providing high quality education and care programmes across the service which meet or exceed the needs of all children in our care. As a service, we are always examining and reflecting upon our processes to ensure best practice via hands-on experience, current research, good management and professional development.
Our team at Smart Start is committed to protecting, nurturing and educating the children in our care. We understand that each child’s personality is individual and precious. We honour each child’s family background and culture and endeavour to develop and maintain positive and supportive relationships with families within our centre. We strive at all times to maintain an environment that encourages children and families to feel that they belong, and promotes play-based learning which is emergent and contextual.
At Smart Start we believe in providing children with the highest quality of care supporting each and every child to reach their fullest potential, enhancing all areas of Children’s growth and development. We believe play is an integral foundation to children’s Learning.
We offer a genuine, inclusive Community, building a sense of belonging within our Smart Start Family through our warm, caring and home-like environment.
We believe in offering home cooked meals to support our vision of the “home away from home experience” and provide the opportunity to spend meaningful time together.
Working in partnership with all Families, we support the children developing life skills and practices. We promote the journey and process of Children’s learning, not just the end product; we advocate for each child’s voice to be heard and for their safety.
Our reflective practice broadens Educator’s understanding and knowledge. We promote professional development as this develops our team in our continuous improvements. We are committed to supporting the individual strengths and skills of our team.

Together we embed sustainable living and work to provide an environment that empowers our children to build knowledge, explore values and grow a love and appreciation for their Natural World. We encourage our children to explore and question, have reflective discussions with peers and educators and explain how they see their World and what we can do to help them.
